You should have turned right

These days Florian Froschmayer has real chances of becoming Germans' favorite director - at least for a while. On September 6th, he finally ended the unpleasant "CRIME SCENE" hiatus with his episode "You will be judged". The Berliner by choice and native of Switzerland has directed the latest episode. This time, it's not about the suspense when investigators and viewers are trying to figure out who the murderer is - you realize in just a minute. The exciting, suspenseful question is, "How will they catch him?"

Froschmayer is one of those multitalented inordinate types. He has directed more than 50 films, including the "CRIME SCENE" episodes "The Policewomen's Murderer" and "Borowski and the Unchained World" and has photographed on a professional level. Some of his photos can be seen (since Thursday) in a former wine bar in the Gervinusstr. 12 under the title "Cities & Faces". Visitors to the exhibition included the actors Ronald Nitsche, Karsten Speck and Charles Rettinghaus, whose characters are portraits on the walls. But also Dana Golombeck and Christoph M. Ohrt, who will perhaps be portrayed in the near future.

The office gallery is a dream come true for Froschmayer and his wife, actress Victoria Sturm. She says, "This is meant as a meeting place for creative people." If you want to see the exhibition, you can try, but risk ending up in front of a closed door. It would be best to make an appointment on the website froschmayer.tv.

Froschmayer has known that he wanted to shoot films since his 13th birthday. The science fiction comedy "Back to the Future" inspired him to become a director. The move from Zurich to Berlin was logical, as there was no film industry in his homeland and he did not want to make a film just once every six years.

When he was a student, Froschmayer bought a computer from his math teacher and started learning how to program. Over 20 years later, this talent has come to fruition. The difficult organizational processes and the inconceivable use of paper in film productions not only frustrated, but also inspired him. The result was a professional software for the paperless organization of productions ("Script to movie"), in which all parties involved are always up-to-date.

Froschmayer's wife has one of the most popular voices in the German dubbing industry. She dubs main character Lynette Scavo in "Desperate Housewives" (currently on SIXX), is in "Numbers - the logic of crime", "OC, California", "Buffy - under the demons' spell", "Bones - the bone hunter", "The L Word" and "Luther". She dubs main character Kate Beckett in the humorous crime series Castle. It must be pure torture for Florian Froschmayer to zap through serials - he's bound to hear his wife's voice (such moments should sometimes exist when two people live together). He has an even worse example: "I love playing Playstation. Sometimes, when the game is going really fast, my wife will systemically say things like, 'You should have just turned right', which can make me quite angry."
